Growing up

Miles is starting to sit up unsupported but only for an instant.  He is bearing his wait on his legs while being held in a standing position.  I think he is anxious to be in that position because he can better see what is going on.  He is very alert and nosy.  It's so fun to watch the expression on his face as he takes in the world.
He must be going through a growth spurt because he no longer sleeps all night.  He usually wakes up around 2:00 AM and despite my best efforts to get him to go back to sleep I end up havign to feed him first.
He was being so funny last night.  I was tickling him and BeBe was talking to him and he was laughing so hard.  It really is the best thing ever.  When they start laughing your life changes.

Miles turns 5 months

Miles turned 5 months old on the 9th of September.  I have missed alot.  About a week or two into month 4 we started baby food.  That took about 2 weeks to perfect (He actually opens his mouth as opposed to me unsucsessfully shoving the spoon in his mouth).  We started with bananas, but I think his favorite are pears.  He is rolling over from stomach to back but not the other way.  Although I think he could if he tried.  Sunday night he sat up for a second before he hit the deck (I caught him of course).  He loves to watch the dogs wrestle. He just laughs at them.

Miles - The First Milestones

This is my first post on this blog. I want to be able to keep up with all the things going on with Miles. They really do grow up fast and he changes daily. I am trying to figure out the best way to record his life and so I'm going to give this a try.

I'll start with what is going on right now and will try to back track at a later date. The past couple of days we have attempted to eat cereal with a spoon. I'm not really sure he is getting anything because he spits most of it out. That's okay. We are going to keep trying everyday until he gets it.

He is sleeping every night from about 9:00 until sometime between 5 and 6, then he nurses and goes right back to sleep until about 8:00. I am so blessed. His first 10 weeks he was colicky but then I added cereal and that help out tremendously. He still needed to grow out of it though. Today he is so much better and I feel like I can take him places and he won't cry the whole time. Yes, this was the case. I couldn't go anywhere because he never stopped crying unless he was asleep. If he woke up someone was heading outside with him. Life is sooo much better now. I can finally see what a blessing and gift from God he truly is.

At 8 weeks he started smiling. At 10 weeks, along with starting cereal, I also moved him to a convertible car seat (Britax Roundabout 50). This was because he hated the infant seat. He also hates the big one but not nearly as much.
